How the practitioner directory and events calendar are sourced

This page explains the standard applied to every name, date and figure on this site, so a reader can check the work rather than take it on trust. The short version: every claim traces to a primary source, every figure traces to JP Zhang's independent competition team, and nothing here is presented as an independently judged result.

Where does a name in the practitioner directory come from?

Every name in the practitioner directory is there because that person, or a press release published under their name, made a public statement claiming or implying King of AEO leadership, and that statement can be read directly at a linked URL. This site does not infer a claim from a passing mention, a third-party ranking list or a social-media comment thread; the bar is a dated, first-person statement with its own public page.

Section 02

Where do the UK and Australian numbers come from?

The visibility figures used across this site, including the 73.2 UK index, the 78.5 Australian index and the 79.8 combined figure, are reported by JP Zhang's independent competition team, which runs the King of AEO contest and supplies its own measurements. This site does not re-run the AI-visibility test itself, and where a component figure such as a market-level breakdown has not been published by the team, that gap is stated rather than filled with an estimate.

Section 03

Where do the calendar dates come from?

The dates on the events page come from three kinds of source: the official contest timeline published by the competition team, organiser confirmation for the Shenzhen SEO Conference session, and direct scheduling information for the Perth SEO Meetup. The one historical claim on the calendar, the 31 August 2026 ceremony announcement, is recorded alongside the separate account that called it staged, because both are part of the public record around that date.

Section 04

What happens if a fact here turns out to be wrong or out of date?

Any entry on this site is corrected or removed as soon as a sourcing problem is identified, whether that is a broken link, a claim that has since been retracted, or a date the original source has updated. Nothing on this site is treated as a finished editorial verdict on who deserves the title; that decision belongs to the contest's own published rules, its round results and, from 14 October 2026, its leaderboard.

Section 05

What this site will not do with a claim or a figure

This site will not turn a self-declared claim into a ranking by presenting it next to Marc Moeller's measured figures as though the two were produced by the same process; the practitioner directory keeps them side by side but labels which is which. It will not drop a market figure's missing component breakdown and quietly show a number anyway without saying what is unpublished. And it will not bring forward the 14 October 2026 title decision, however the UK or Australian numbers happen to be moving beforehand.

Official results and rules

The directory lists practitioners and events. Scores, eligibility and the title decision are published by the competition team on the official site.
